A new roof, start to finish, with one crew

Replacing a roof is the biggest job most houses ever get. You should know exactly what you're paying for, who will be on your roof and when they'll be gone. AXEL Roofing has been putting roofs on Front Range homes for more than 18 years, and owner Jose Cruz comes out to look at the roof before anything gets priced.

If your roof still has years left in it, you'll hear that from us. One of our Google reviews puts it simply: Jose “didn't try to oversell us.” When a replacement really is the right call, you get the full scope in writing before work starts, and our crew carries the job through to cleanup.

The process

What replacement day looks like

  1. 01

    Protect the property

Tarps go over flower beds, AC units and walkways before the first shingle comes off.

  2. 02

    Tear off to the deck

The old shingles and underlayment come off down to bare wood and go straight into the dump trailer in your driveway.

  3. 03

    Check every sheet of decking

With the roof stripped, soft or rotted boards are easy to find. They get cut out and replaced so the new roof is fastened to solid wood.

  4. 04

    Dry it in

Leak barrier goes along the eaves and into the valleys, then synthetic underlayment covers the rest of the deck.

  5. 05

    Shingles, flashing and vents

New shingles, ridge caps, pipe boots and roof vents, with the flashing at walls and chimneys replaced or resealed.

  6. 06

Clean up and look it over

Debris is cleared, tarps come up, and we go over the finished roof with you before we call it done.

Built for hail and wind

Colorado roofs take a beating. The Front Range sits in Hail Alley, and a summer storm can drop hail on one subdivision and miss the next one entirely. When you replace, ask about impact-resistant shingles. Many insurance companies offer a discount for roofs rated Class 4, so check with your agent before you pick a product.

Ventilation matters here too. Big temperature swings bake an attic in July and freeze it in January, and a roof that can't breathe wears out early. We look at your intake and exhaust vents when we price the job.

Permits and the warranty

Reroofs in Centennial and most of the surrounding cities need a building permit and a final inspection. Ask us about the permit for your address when we come out for the estimate. Our workmanship is covered for 15 years, on top of the shingle manufacturer's own warranty.

Questions

Roof Replacement FAQ

Do I need a new roof or just a repair?

Age, the number of leaks and how much of the roof is damaged all matter. A newer roof with one cracked pipe boot needs a repair. A roof with hail bruising on every slope usually needs replacing. The free inspection gives you a clear answer either way.

Do you install over the old shingles?

No. Our replacements are full tear-offs. Stripping to the deck is the only way to find and fix soft decking, and new shingles lie flatter on clean wood.

Will you protect my yard?

Yes. Tarps go down over beds, shrubs and AC units before tear-off starts, and debris is loaded into our trailer as the crew works.

I had some damage to the trim on the second floor of my home and wasn't sure what had caused it. I posted a photo on the Nextdoor app asking for recommendations, and within an hour Axel Roofing Construction responded.

The very next day, the owner, Jose Cruz, came out to inspect the damage and provide a free estimate. Jose was professional, knowledgeable, and immediately showed me his contractor's license, which gave me confidence in his company. He provided the quote promptly, and by the following day his crew was on site completing the work. …
